Allen Wier received the Hoges’ Chair for Distinguished Teaching at the University of Knoxville in Tennessee. He is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. His fiction, essays, and reviews appear in such publications as Southern Review, Five Points, Georgia Review, Ploughshares, Shenandoah, and the New York Times. His most recent novel, Tehano, was published in 2006 by Southern Methodist University Press.

Beth Ann Fennelly is an Associate Professor at the University of Mississippi. She has received a 2003 National Endowment for the Arts Award and a 2006 United States Artist Grant. Her book Open House won the 2001 Kenyon Review Prize, the GLCA New Writers Award, and was a Book Sense Top Ten Poetry Pick. Great With Child, a book of nonfiction, was published by Norton in 2006. She won a Fullbright grant and spent the spring of 2009 in Brazil.
